The
award winning, highly
versatile ramp, designed
to make the lives of
wheelchair users and
people with impaired
mobility easier, is simply
rolled out into position
whenever needed and,
when finished with, rolled
or folded back up for
convenient storage
As
it is made of extremely
strong anodised
aluminium, which allows
it to hold up to 900 kg
of distributed weight,
safe access is ensured
in a wide variety of applications:
up and down awkward thresholds,
or in and out of vehicles
and buildings.
Says centre manager,
Irene Moore: “I
am overwhelmingly impressed
with the reliability
and stability of the
product. Being so steady
but at the same time
adaptable and lightweight,
it is extremely user-friendly.
The fact that the ramp
provides instant access
in almost any situation
makes it a sound and
economic solution for
respite houses, nursing
homes and care centres
like ourselves, which
are often based in listed
buildings, where obtaining
planning permission can
be a major problem. As
it fits easily into the
car boot, it would also
be a useful device to
take on daytrips to locations
such as parks and beaches.”
The ramp, which comes
with a 10-year warranty,
can be left outside in
all types of weather and
has special horizontal
ridges providing grip in
all situations. Yellow
rubberised pinch guards
with reflectors assure
easy visibility for people
with impaired vision. It
is available in two different
widths and comes in any
length required.
Andrew
Cohen, a director of
Roll-a-Ramp says: “We
have already had some remarkable
feedback from authorities
in the health sector interested
in the ramp as an access
solution for their own
institutions. It now means
a lot to us to hear that
the very people who would
benefit from the ramp,
such as the members at
the Hoskyn Centre, are
pleased to give us their
seal of approval!"
